Congratulations to Aarit Dixit for placing 4th at the International Science and Engineering Fair
Last year, we were contacted by Aarit Dixit, a 16-year-old aerospace enthusiast who was embarking on a solo engineering project to build a custom, largely 3D-printed tiltrotor VTOL aircraft. He was seeking support for his project, and Altitude Hobbies gladly donated Leopard LC2835 brushless motors that fit the specifications required for his design.
This month, we received the following email from him and we are so excited to share the news of his outstanding accomplishment!
After 8 months of hard work, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve earned 4th place in the Engineering Technology category at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). This achievement would not have been possible without your generous sponsorship of the Leopard 2835-9T 900kV motors for my tiltrotor VTOL project.
The Leopard 2835-9T motors delivered exceptional thrust consistency and thermal stability throughout the VTOL flight envelope. Even after repeated high-stress transitions from hover to forward flight, the motors performed flawlessly with no signs of overheating or power sag.
Linked below are Aarit's conference poster and full project binder which includes performance data, code, and real-world test results demonstrating the reliability of the Leopard motor in a demanding VTOL application:
