CPS + Altitude Drones Accidental Damage Protection for DJI Drones
CPS + Altitude Drones Accidental Damage Protection for DJI Drones
Protect Your Drone Against Unexpected Accidents
Even the most experienced drone pilots can encounter unexpected accidents. Whether you're flying for public safety, inspections, mapping, photography, or recreational use, a single crash or hard landing can result in costly repairs.
CPS (Consumer Priority Service) Accidental Damage Protection provides an additional layer of protection for your DJI drone against qualifying accidental damage that would not normally be covered under DJI's standard manufacturer's limited warranty.
Accidental damage protection from CPS is intended to replace DJI Care which was discontinued in the U.S. in July, 2025.
With CPS protection, you can fly with added peace of mind knowing that eligible accidental damage to your drone may be covered under your selected protection plan.
What Does CPS Accidental Damage Protection Cover?
CPS Accidental Damage Protection is designed to protect your DJI drone against qualifying unforeseen accidents, including:
-
Accidental Crashes: Damage sustained when your drone unintentionally crashes during flight.
-
Accidental Drops: Physical damage caused by accidentally dropping your drone.
-
Impact Damage: Damage to covered drone components resulting from an eligible collision or hard landing.
-
Camera and Gimbal Damage: Accidental damage to the drone's original, manufacturer-included camera or gimbal, subject to the plan's terms.
-
Covered Repairs: Parts and labor associated with approved accidental damage claims, subject to applicable deductibles and coverage limits.
All claims are subject to review and approval by CPS in accordance with the terms and conditions of the purchased plan.
Important: Coverage Applies to the Drone Only
CPS Accidental Damage Protection covers only the eligible DJI drone itself. It does not extend to additional accessories, even when those accessories are included in a DJI Combo, Bundle, or other package purchased with the drone.
Accessories and equipment excluded from coverage include, but are not limited to:
-
Intelligent Flight Batteries and additional batteries
-
DJI speakers and loudspeaker attachments
-
DJI spotlights and searchlights
-
Battery charging hubs and chargers
-
Propellers and other consumable or user-replaceable parts
-
Cases, carrying bags, cables, and other accessories
For example, if you purchase a DJI Matrice 4 drone bundle that includes the aircraft, additional batteries, a spotlight, fast charger and a speaker, CPS accidental damage coverage applies only to the eligible drone, not the additional bundled accessories.
The inclusion of accessories within the original product package does not make those accessories eligible for protection under the drone's CPS plan.
What Is NOT Covered by CPS Accidental Damage Protection?
CPS Accidental Damage Protection is intended to cover qualifying accidental damage and is not a replacement for DJI's manufacturer's limited warranty.
The accidental damage protection offered here does not cover issues that would normally fall under DJI's limited warranty, such as:
-
Manufacturer defects in materials or workmanship
-
Factory-related component failures
-
Product malfunctions unrelated to an accidental event
-
Mechanical or electrical defects arising from normal use
-
Other defects or failures eligible for service under DJI's limited warranty
For these types of issues, customers should contact DJI directly to determine eligibility for service under the manufacturer's warranty. DJI's CarePro warranty may handle the repair at their California or Texas repair center.
Additional exclusions include lost or stolen drones, intentional damage, misuse, neglect, cosmetic-only damage, routine maintenance, and other circumstances excluded under CPS's terms and conditions.
How Does CPS Protection Differ from DJI's Limited Warranty?
Understanding the difference between these two types of protection is important when purchasing a new DJI drone.
| DJI Limited Warranty | CPS Accidental Damage Protection |
|---|---|
| Covers qualifying manufacturer defects | Covers qualifying accidental damage |
| May cover failures caused by defective materials or workmanship | For accidental crashes, drops, and impact damage |
| Does not generally cover pilot-error crashes | Designed to help protect against eligible accidental incidents |
| Administered by DJI | Administered by Consumer Priority Service (CPS) |
| Subject to DJI's warranty terms | Subject to CPS plan terms, deductibles, and exclusions |
CPS accidental damage protection is designed to complement DJI's limited warranty by helping protect against certain accidental events that a standard manufacturer's warranty would typically exclude.
Coverage Period, Deductibles, and Claims
CPS drone protection plans have specific coverage periods, deductibles, and claim requirements.
When does coverage begin?
CPS accidental damage protection has a 30-day claims hold. Coverage becomes eligible for claims beginning on day 31 after the original purchase date. Accidents occurring during the first 30 days are not covered.
Is there a deductible?
Yes. An applicable deductible is required when filing an approved claim. The deductible amount depends on the drone's original purchase price and the specific protection plan purchased. See the chart below*:
| Drone Purchase Price: | 1 Year Coverage Deductible: | 2 Year Coverage Deductible: |
| Under $100 | $35 | $35 |
| Under $250 | $50 | $50 |
| Under $500 | $75 | $75 |
| Under $750 | $100 | $100 |

| Under $17,500 | $600 | $600 |
| Under $20,000 | $600 | $600 |
| Under $25,000 | $600 | $600 |

| Under $40,000 | $900 | $900 |
| Under $50,000 | $1000 | $1000 |
How many claims can I submit?
CPS allows multiple eligible claims during the coverage period. However, coverage ends once the cumulative cost of covered repairs reaches the original purchase price of the protected drone, according to CPS's stated drone plan limits.
What happens if my drone cannot be repaired?
CPS may offer a replacement option if the covered drone cannot be repaired, subject to plan terms, eligibility, and coverage limits.
How to File a CPS Accidental Damage Claim
If your DJI drone experiences accidental damage, you can initiate a claim directly through Consumer Priority Service.
-
Visit www.cpscentral.com and access the claims portal.
-
Provide your CPS Membership ID, drone serial number, and original purchase receipt.
-
Describe the accident and damage to your aircraft.

Follow CPS's instructions for claim evaluation, deductible payment, and shipping the drone to an authorized repair facility.
All claims must be evaluated and approved by CPS. Do not arrange independent repairs before receiving authorization from CPS.
Protect Your Investment with CPS
DJI drones are sophisticated aircraft, and even a minor accident can lead to expensive repairs involving cameras, gimbals, sensors, motors, or other components.
Whether you're operating your drone for professional applications or personal use, CPS Accidental Damage Protection offers an additional level of financial protection against qualifying unexpected accidents.
Before purchasing, please remember: Coverage applies only to the eligible drone, excludes accessories and bundled equipment, and is intended for accidental damage rather than defects or failures normally addressed by DJI's limited warranty.
To purchase CPS Accidental Damage Protection, select to add the coverage from the available list of add-ons on the product page for the drone you are purchasing.
