The T-Motor / T-Hobby AM480 Brushless Motor is a lightweight, high-performance power system designed for 48–52 inch 3D RC airplanes, freestyle aircraft, and aerobatic models. Available in both 600KV and 900KV versions, the AM480 gives pilots the flexibility to choose the ideal motor setup for their preferred battery configuration and flying style.

Built around T-Hobby's large-diameter motor architecture, the AM480 delivers strong torque, rapid throttle response, and an excellent power-to-weight ratio. Its lightweight construction helps reduce overall aircraft weight while still providing the power needed for hovering, harriers, waterfalls, knife-edge flight, vertical climbs, and aggressive freestyle maneuvers.

The AM480 600KV is optimized for 5S–6S LiPo power, making it an excellent choice for pilots looking for strong torque and powerful vertical performance. Manufacturer testing has demonstrated static thrust approaching 3.9 kg (8.6 lb) with an appropriate propeller and power setup.

The AM480 900KV is optimized for 3S–4S LiPo batteries and offers higher RPM with extremely quick throttle response. This version is ideal for lightweight 3D builds where pilots want aggressive spool-up, fast transitions, and strong performance without the additional weight of a higher-cell-count battery system.

Both versions feature a lightweight hollow-shaft design and optimized motor construction to reduce unnecessary mass while maintaining durability and effective cooling during demanding aerobatic flight.
